316L STAINLESS HEAT
EXCHANGER
As the
flame from the burner heats the water traveling through the
heat exchanger in the front part of the heater, the heat that
does not get transferred to the water is forced to the outside
of the coils. Because this is a fan-powered burner system, the
remaining hot air is forced to the back of the heater where
the exhaust is located. On its way, it passes from the outside
of the coiled heat exchanger and through it to the inside. At
this point most of the remaining heat is transferred to the
cooler water running through the heat exchanger, preheating
the water, and this is where condensation
occurs.

BURNER
Running through the center of the coiled heat exchanger is
the burner. It is powered by fan driven gas/air mixing system that
forces the flame out in a 360° pattern. The burner does not run the
entire length of the water heater. The front 60% of the heat
exchangerthat is in the combustion chamber is insulated from the
back 40% of the heat exchanger that is not in the combustion
chamber.

EFFICIENCY RATING
No
matter what the efficiency rating of the water heater is, the fact
is it does not always operate at that efficiency. Incoming water
that is much cooler than the desired temperature is required for
condensation to occur, and these types of heaters must be in a
condensing mode to reach peak efficiency.
The
EVO 99's exclusive, patented modulating burner system keeps the
water heater condensing for a much longer time than the others. The
result is a sustained operating efficiency up to 15% greater than
other condensing water heaters.

AIR/GAS MODULATION
Not
only is the EVO 99 ultra-high efficiency, but it further contributes
to energy savings by utilizing a modulating gas/air mixing system.
The onboard microprocessor compares water temperature readings from
the inlet and outlet heaters and "decides" how much heat needs to be
put into the water. As the water temperature approaches its target
settings, the EVO 99 automatically reduces the amount of BTUs put
into the water by slowing the mixing fan. In low- demand times, the
eater may only run at about 66,000 BTUs.

CONTROLS
In
addition to controlling the BTU output of the EVO 99, the
microprocessor (controller) is also where the desired water
temperature is set. The water heater turns off at the set point and
turns on at the differential set point, which can be 6°F, 12°F,
18°F, or 24°F settings. The self-diagnostics provide a small green
flashing light, which indicates where any problems may be occurring,
simplifying troubleshooting.

VENTING EVO 99
Because most of the heat produced by the EVO 99 goes into
the water, the resulting exhaust temperatures are very low- 135° or
less. This allows for exhaust to flow through standard 3" PVC pipe.
And, being a sealed combustion unit, it means that its make up air
is drawn from outside the building, also through a 3" pipe. Both of
these can be combined into a single 5" diameter concentric vent,
reducing roof or wall penetrations to one per heater.

COMPLETE SYSTEMS
Use
either a single heater or higher input packaged units to achieve the
desired BTU input. When packaged units are selected, they are
completely preassembled into a single heating unit.
Inputs available from 199,000 to
800,000 Btu/hr
So Remember...
• Completely assembled, piped, wired and factory test
fired prior to shipping
• Ultra-high efficiency means low stack
temperature. Sealed combustion means no ventilation openings to the
outside. Both exhaust and air inlet use 3" PVC pipe.
• Modular component construction and
self-diagnostic microprocessor controls provide for easy
troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Extremely low NOX emissions exceed even
pending government standards.
• High density injection molded poly cabinet-
no more rusty sheet metal to replace.
