Wet Cleaning System • UniMac's Water-based Dry-cleaning Alternative

Why use the Wet Cleaning System?

Due to growing environmental concerns, professional fabricare operators are investigating a supplement to traditional dry cleaning, referred to as wet cleaning. It's an environmentally-friendly process that successfully cleans garments without damaging sensitive fibers.

How does the Wet Cleaning System work?

Successful wet cleaning can be precisely managed through microprocessor controls and variable speed frequency drives. Wash temperature, cylinder speed, mechanical action, cleaning agents, and efficient moisture removal each have detailed requirements depending on the types of garments being cleaned.

UniMac's UW and UF washer-extractors have been exclusively designed with features required for successful wet cleaning, including two wash speeds, seven wash actions, and eight supply signals. Many have selected an optional Water Recirculation System designed to simulate a gentle hand washing. It also uses a specially designed strainer to trap excess lint.

UniMac's Microprocessor controlled tumblers featuring 10 levels of dryness are ideal for the wet clean process. They allow precise control of drying temperature and time so garments aren't over-dried. This is critical during the wet clean process.

Why Water Recirculation?

When you want to clean those extra delicate items such as wool, drapery or bed skirting, the water recirculation option will provide a mechanical action similar to handwashing. If you have a need to eliminate excess lint, the pump strainer will assist you.

How Does it Work?

The microcomputer control can be programmed to recirculate water during the mechanical action step of the wash cycle. Water exits through a second drain into a strainer designed to trap foreign objects including excessive hair and lint. A small pump then recirculates the strained water through an opening at the top of the washer, allowing the water to "rain" down on the linen in the wash wheel. Thus the simulated hand washing! When combined with our ultra soft wash speed, you have the ideal cleaning action for lightly soiled, delicate items.

Water recirculation can be purchased as a factory built option, or can be added to certain models while on-site.
